The core purpose of NHS County Durham is to work in partnership with NHS Darlington and other local partners to tackle inequalities and improve health and wellbeing.

 In order to ensure that the populations of County Durham and Darlington have the levels of health and healthcare that they deserve, we will deliver:

The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 places a legal requirement on local authorities and primary care trusts to produce a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) of the health and wellbeing of their local populations.

Our performance 

NHS County Durham is committed to measuring performance against its priorities. It does this through the following activities:
