Chair of NHS County Durham and NHS County Durham and Darlington Integrated Business Board 

Ann Calman, Chairman of NHS County Durham was previously Chair of Durham and Chester-le-Street PCT from April 2002. Prior to that, she was a lay member of the former Durham and Chester-le-Street primary care group. Ann has over 30 years experience in education, working as a teacher and as head of an educational research unit, retiring from teaching in 1994. She previously served as a non-executive director on the board of a large teaching hospital in Glasgow. As chair of Durham and Chester-le-Street PCT, Ann was particularly involved in developing ways of engaging the public and palliative care in North Durham.

Ann was appointed on 1 October 2006 as Chairman of the newly formed county-wide Primary Care Trust for County Durham and currently Chairs the Integrated Commissioning Business Board of NHS County Durham and Darlington.
